1965 Jaguar E Type S1 4.2 FHC

The E-Type S1 4.2 is considered to be the pick of all the E-Type models. With only 1016 RHD cars built in 1965. This car retains its original numbers matching engine. This was stripped and overhauled when the car was upgraded with the following, 5 speed gearbox with a matched ratio limited slip differential. The brakes have been upgraded to 4-piston alloy calipers and ventilated discs, front and rear. The suspension has been upgraded with stiffer antiroll bars, front and rear. Stiffer front torsion bars. Adjustable height rear springs and adjustable dampers all round. The suspension bushes are upgraded to Super-Pro. Wide chrome 72 spoke wire wheels and 205/70/15 tyres. Electronic ignition. Hi-Torque starter motor. Hi-Output alternator. Upgraded alloy radiator and cooling fans. Air conditioning. Reverse camera. 1” smaller steering wheel. EZ electric power steering. All new leather interior, carpets and headlining. The car has done minimal mileage since this work has been completed. The heritage certificate shows the car was a home delivery through Henlys and H R Owen London. The first owner is recorded as R J O Arkell of Berkshire. We believe the car came to Australia early in its life. Ian Cummins purchased the car many years ago and used it in regularity events. The leather bonnet straps are a nice nod to its previous life.

The car drives beautifully with greatly improved handling and brakes. The power steering makes light work of maneuvering and the AC keeps the cabin cool. The car comes with original handbooks, wallet, spare keys and history.
