1963 Lotus Seven Series 2
Supplied from the factory as a fully assembled car with a 1500 Cosworth MK14 Kent engine and wobbly-web wheels. Built in RHD configuration for export to the USA and club raced there from new.
The comprehensive history file includes a number of photos and owner’s recollections from its time as a racing car.
Garaged in the 1970’s then exhumed in the 2010s and returned to the UK. Restored over a period of years to original specification by leading specialists - the chassis was returned to Arch Motors, the original suppliers of chassis to Lotus Components, for meticulous renovation.
During the very detailed restoration, the original race scrutineering stickers were retained. The steering wheel, dash layout, Weber carbs, and all other details are original, complete, sorted, tuned.
The car’s meticulous restoration was completed in 2021 and it has covered only a couple of hundred miles since completion.
The Lotus Historic Register has authenticated the car and described it as, “a fine example of the Lotus marque, and now looks exactly as it did when it left the factory in 1963”.
This is as good as it gets in terms of historical significance, originality, and condition. It is the ultimate fun analogue driver’s car for the discerning collector.
A very exciting jewel of a car!
