1968 MGB MK1

The MGB has been a hit from day one. In its time the most successful sports car in the world. Designed right from the beginning. Monocoque construction, wind-up windows, 1800cc twin carburettor engine, rack-and-pinion steering, disc brakes, over-drive gearbox, features that put it well ahead of its MGA predecessor.

This exceptional late MK1 model is one of only 200 assembled at the Zetland plant where the bodies went through the ROTO-DIP paint process. This could be one of the reasons this car is so well preserved. These early models were also fitted with an aluminium bonnet.

Only 57700 miles on the clock and in lovely condition. Original features include, Britax seat belts, AWA Pressmatic Deluxe radio, Over-Drive gearbox, Hard top, soft top, tonneau cover and wire wheels.

Recent work includes, rebuilt seats with new foams, rubber diaphragm’s, English leather covers with contrasting piping. New wire wheels with new Pirelli Cinturato tyres. New wiring harness and SU fuel pump. Service and tune-up. LED headlight upgrade.

Whilst MG made many MGB’s, they are hard to find in this condition. They must be one of the least expensive classic cars to run and the MG car club is one of the best. Some of the many good reasons to own one. Currently on full NSW registration.
